Leonard Stanley 1 v 2 Cam Bulldogs
Off the back of an unlucky cup defeat the dogs traveled to Leonard Stanley in the league. A dominant first half saw the dogs threaten the Stanley goal to no avail. A horrendous miss from Billy Herbert could have given the visitors the lead, but alas no. The Stanley number 9 thought he should have been in on multiple occasions, only to be flagged l, correctly, offside.
Herbert made amends late in the first half by finding the back of the net, before Ambridge tucked in from a corner to give the dogs a 2-0 lead at half time.

Going up the hill proved tougher for the dogs in the second half. Some good defending from Tocknell and solid saves from Chandler keeping the dogs in it.

Pressure from the home side was soaked up by the dogs, until a last minute own goal by the impressive Tocknell saw the game finish 2-1 to the visitors.

Stroud United 0 v 0 Cam Bulldogs
On a day where fulfilling the fixture was the objective Cam 3’s gave a stunning defensive performance to produce a great result against top of the league.
A line up which saw a new face between the sticks and a couple of unfamiliar faces in the back 3 meant big performances were needed all round.
The game went as expected with Cam soaking up the pressure from an ever frustrated Stroud team who were expecting a comfortable win over the dogs. Chances for Cam were few and far between with most of the 90 minutes being played in their own half. Stroud played the ball well in midfield but the determination and grit from Cam along with a couple of good saves from Smith kept them in the game.
A late attack by Cam was the highlight of the 2nd half which should have seen Cam awarded a free kick after Tudor was hacked down on the edge of the area, had the ref left the centre circle it may have been given.
The game finished 0-0 and dogs came away with a well earned point!

Cam Bulldogs 2 V 2 Berkeley Town
THE spoils were shared at the Shed.
The game started with a fast tempo as Cam struggled to find their feet in the game. Berkeley took the lead through a free-kick which was fired in off the inside of the post. The second-half saw a much improved display from the home side, who worked hard and showed great team spirit.
Cam drew level after a great bit of skill from Josh Hemper for Alex Griffith to drill the ball into the back of the net. Cam continued to knock on the door and eventually got themselves in front after a composed Jake Dolbear turned on the edge of his own box and drove forward to put a well-executed through ball into the path of Dave Pinner who calmly finished past the keeper.
Cam were unable to hold out for the win as, in the final minute of injury time, Berkeley snatched an equaliser thanks to some sharp passing in the middle which saw the striker through on goal as he slotted home in the far corner.
Cam Bulldogs are at home again next week as they host Cheltenham Civil Service.

SDFL Section B Plate Trophy
Tetbury Town Res 1 V 3 Cam Bulldogs Res
The 2s started their new year with a 3-1 win in the cup away at Tetbury 2s. Several Cam players looked like they had a very good Xmas , and struggled to get around the large pitch. Once settled the game centred around woeful finishing particularly from Cam. The Mears cousins Ollie and Jake along with joe Knighton being particular wasteful. Finally in the 2nd half, George dolling scored a sliced effort from 2 yards and Cam added further goals from Sam Bevan and Joe Knighton who atoned for miss of the season candidate. Tetbury scores a consolation late on. Louis Kimber was man of match for cam, completing his 1st 90 minutes. Improved finishing and weight watchers are required for the 2s going into next weekend

SDFL Bill Bick Cup
Cam Bulldogs Res 4 V 2Cam Everside
The Jubilee Playing Field turned into the San Siro for day as two local rivals who share the ground came together in the Bill Bick Cup.
The game started well for dogs, seeing early pressure applied. The game then ebbed back in favour of Everside who equally enjoyed spells of possession. An incisive breakaway saw former dog, L Crosbee, through one on one with keeper Price who was rounded only to see the ball in the back of the net, the only real chance of the game so far. Immediately the dogs hit back from a corner when R Thomas scored from close range with the aid of a deflection. A good break from the dogs saw J Gray force a decent save from the Everside keeper.
A blatant handball from J Allen saw a yellow for the man in yellow. More good football from the dogs saw another effort from the lively Gray saved. The Everside lead was restored from a corner kick. Keeper Price admitted he could have punched the ball clear in the post-match interview. Moments later a free kick from Tudor was tipped onto the bar and Thomas quickest to follow up the rebound. The dogs perhaps a little unfair to be going in level at half time.

The second half started evenly, in similar fashion to the first. Not many chances were created by either side, untill Tudor's long range effort was saved well. A mix up at the back from Everside saw the ball bundled into the net, going down as an own goal, giving Cam a deserved 3-2 lead.
Rare glimpses of quality were on offer from Cam in an otherwise scrappy game. Good play seeing another effort from Gray go wide. More good play saw Tocknell in the box only to put the ball past the post.
A lack of communication at the back saw the only real chance of the second half for Everside go wide.
The dogs finally tool advantage of a deep free kick from Ambridge when T Smith nodded the ball back across the face of goal for Timms to head the ball in from close range. A goal promised from the forward, and a goal delivered.
With the result in the bag, a silly booking for N Allen for kicking the ball away was the only point of note in the last minutes of the game.
A strong performance sees the dogs go marching into the next round after a 4-2 win over local rivals.

Cam Bulldogs V Harrow Hill
The First team, fell short to Harrow Hill on what can only be described as a bog. Cam fell behind through an unfortunate own goal after dominating the first 15 minutes of the game. Cam came back strong from this goal, showing good character and determination and knocked on the door for an equaliser for the rest of the half.
Harrow Hill took a 2-0 lead shortly into the second half, through a thunder bolt finish from the number 9. Cam continued to knock on the door after this, and didn’t give up. With about 15 minutes to go, Cam pulled a goal back through Antonio Forgione after he chased a through ball from Billy Herbert and tapped it in after a keeper and defender collision.
Can continued to press and knock at the door to find the well deserved equaliser, but unfortunately fell short and the score finished Cam Bulldogs 1-2 Harrow Hill.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year from us all at the dogs!
We look forward to next Saturday as we host Berkeley Town in a local Derby.

Cam Bulldogs 3rds V Sharpness 3rds
Season's greetings from the field of dreams. A hectic festive period brought two local rivals together.
An early opening goal for the sharks saw the visitors take the lead. The first half followed a pattern with both teams enjoying periods of possession. A couple of chances spurned for the dogs would be telling later. The first half finished 1-0 to the away side.
The second half started brightly for the dogs with Colborn winning a penalty. Timms stood up and calmly slotted past former dog, Hobbs.
After conceding the sharks applied the pressure. The diet of turkey and chocolate started to show with both sides tiring and robust tackles flying in, one resulting in a booking for substitute Ambridge.
Chances fell for both sides, the best being a chance from a dogs free kick that Colborn put over the bar. Ballard made a series of good saves, including a cracking double save keeping the dogs in it.
The sharks quality showed when Watkins finished well in one on one chances, followed by a long range effort from A Collard flying in.
Watkins completed a hat trick to seal a 5-1 defeat for the dogs.
Merry Christmas.
